Parent involvement is the heart
of student success.
Global Partnership Schools is committed to engaging parents as partners to ensure their children are given every opportunity to reach their goals, and this family learning event brought together families whose children are enrolled in the Global Partnership Schools’ extended learning/SES program in Philadelphia. Families were given free access to the museum and enjoyed a bevy of entertaining activities in the auditorium.
Parents, grandparents, infants, toddlers in strollers, and brothers and sisters all took part in the festivities, games, crafts, and T-shirt design. Tutors and lead coaches from the program, as well as volunteers, donated their time to ensure an amazing day for all, and everyone went home with books, goodies, and prizes.
Dr. Simmons and Team Global-Philadelphia’s efforts are a perfect example of promoting parent engagement by partnering with a community organization to give families an opportunity to explore and discover, learn together, and have fun.
